Creating a Vision Board
A vision board is a creative way to turn the inside of your mind into something you can actually see.
It’s a collection of images, words, and little sparks of inspiration that represent the life you’re building. This includes your goals, your dreams, and the person you’re growing into. Think of it like a map, but instead of directions, it uses images, colors, words, and intention to point you toward the future you desire.
The purpose isn’t just to “set goals.” It’s to wake up the imaginative part of your brain, the part that remembers what you want, even on days you forget. It keeps your dreams visual and alive so your brain starts looking for ways to make them real.
A vision board:
Reminds you what matters so you don’t get lost in the daily noise
Keeps your long-term dreams at eye level
Helps you spot opportunities because your mind is already primed for them
Inspires you, even when you’re tired or doubtful
Makes your goals feel more possible, because you can literally see them
It’s like building a little portal to your ideal future—and hanging it somewhere you’ll bump into it every day.
1. Physical version: Grab some magazines, scissors, and a poster board. Flip through the mags and tear out anything that vibes with your goals or feelings—like dream trips, career stuff, inspiring quotes, or even just colors that make you happy. Then glue or tape them onto your board however you like. No need to overthink it—it’s all about what feels right to you.
2. Digital version: If you’re more of a phone/computer person, you can use apps like Canva, Pinterest, or even just a folder of images on your phone. Collect photos, screenshots, quotes—basically anything that represents your dreams—and arrange them in a collage. You can make it pretty or just throw stuff together.
I personally used Canva for mine. It is easy, customizable, and there is a free version that has plenty of graphics.
If you end up making one, I’d genuinely love to see it. Helping people get clear on their goals and move toward the life they actually want is a big reason I got into this business.
